4 weeks before
Confirm date, optimise long-term conditions, stop smoking, review supplements with your surgeon.
2 weeks before
Pre-op tests, stop certain medications as advised (e.g. NSAIDs, herbal supplements), confirm transport and time off work.
1 week before
Pack hospital bag, arrange domestic help, simple diet and good hydration.
24 hours before
Fast from midnight (or as instructed). Confirm arrival time. Avoid alcohol.
Day of surgery
Shower, no makeup or jewellery, comfortable clothing. Bring ID, insurance card and consent forms.
